Muhammed Ali, Kozhikode

"In 2011, with the support of the Kerala State Agency for Cashew Cultivation, 140 Raghav variety cashew grafts were planted at a 7x7 meter spacing on terraced land, resulting in a thriving orchard of 120 trees. Profitable yields began after 5-6 years, with an average of 13 kilograms per tree harvested in 2024, generating an annual income of approximately one to one and a quarter lakh rupees. I have received full support and cooperation from the KSACC, and as a cashew farmer, I am very satisfied."

Prakashan, Alappuzha

"In 2019 and 2020, I planted and maintained 310 and 320 cashew grafts, respectively, provided by the KSACC on my sister's eight-acre land. I cultivate varieties like Dhana, Dhanasree, and Madakkathara 2, sourced from the Madakkathara Cashew Research Centre in Thrissur, using entirely organic methods. With the support of the KSACC, cashew nuts now fetch a good price, and I am fully satisfied with cashew farming."

Giri T Mathew, Kasargod

“In 2010, I received 200 cashew seedlings from KSACC, which were planted at a spacing of 7 meters across 3.5 acres. From the third year onwards, I harvested 2 kg per tree, and in the 2024-25 season, I obtained 1400 kg of cashew nuts. I cultivate varieties such as Priyanka, Ullal-3, Vengurla, and Bhaskara. With the current favorable prices for cashew nuts, I am fully satisfied with cashew farming. The support and cooperation I receive from KSACC are significant contributors to the success of my cashew cultivation."

“I have cultivated approximately 800 graft seedlings of various varieties in 2020, 2021, and 2022. These trees are now 3 to 5 years old. Cashew nut yields began in the third year, and currently, I am getting an average of 2 kg per tree. This year, I received up to ₹148 per kilogram, and the price remains around ₹140. Cashew is a highly profitable crop with very low maintenance costs. I am very satisfied with this cultivation and the cooperation I receive from the agency officials."

Open Jail, Thiruvananthapuram

"The open jail in Kallikkad Grama Panchayat, Thiruvananthapuram, has established a model cashew orchard. From 2020 to 2023, KSACC provided approximately 10,000 grafts, which were planted across 30 acres using standard, high-density (5 meters), and ultra-high-density (3 meters) planting methods. This project, a collaboration between the government jail department and KSACC, has generated significant revenue for the government, marking a notable achievement for the KSACC."
